The Climate Reality Project and former US Vice President and Nobel Laurate Al Gore will host the 53rd Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training from August 19 – 20 at the KINTEX Center in Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, approximately 23 km from Seoul.
This two-day free training, to be held in Korean and English, provides those ready to make a difference with the tools, knowledge and networks to mobilize communities and drive real action for climate solutions. The training gives attendees an opportunity to learn directly from Al Gore about how to raise awareness of the climate crisis and inspire people to act, just as he did with the landmark films An Inconvenient Truth and An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.

Participants in the training will learn about the opportunities for both urban and rural areas presented by the energy transition and how to make the economic case for climate action. The training will also highlight the reality that equitable climate solutions demand that everyone has access to clean air and water, affordable clean energy, and job opportunities in the net zero economy.
The Republic of Korea’s remarkable rapid development has earned it international recognition as one of the most dynamic and innovative countries on the planet. Now, facing the urgent threat of climate change, South Korea has the chance to write a new chapter in this incredible story, showing the world what it means to be a global leader on climate and successfully transition a powerhouse economy from fossil fuels to renewables. At the Seoul training, we’ll seize this moment and explore the impacts of climate change in the region and the just solutions in our hands today.
